What We DON'T Do

• We DO NOT collect any personal information
• We DO NOT send your data to any servers
• We DO NOT track your usage
• We DO NOT share your information with anyone
• We DO NOT use analytics or advertising
• We DO NOT require an account or login
• We DO NOT access your contacts, photos, or other apps

What Data Stays on Your Device

All of the following information is stored ONLY on your Android device using secure local storage (SharedPreferences):

• Your name (if you choose to provide it)
• Your medication names, dosages, and notes
• Your medication schedules (times you set for reminders)
• Your dose-taking history (which medications you've marked as taken)
• Your app preferences (voice enabled, voice type, accessibility settings)

This data never leaves your device. Never.

Permissions We Request

Notifications

Why: To remind you about medications at scheduled times
What it does: Displays alerts on your device
Data collected: None

Foreground Service (Android)

Why: To run background alarms for medication reminders
What it does: Keeps reminder service active
Data collected: None

Boot Completed

Why: To reschedule medication reminders after device restarts
What it does: Restarts reminder service when you reboot your device
Data collected: None

Schedule Exact Alarm

Why: To deliver reminders at precise times
What it does: Ensures reminders fire at the exact scheduled time
Data collected: None

Text-to-Speech (TTS)

Why: To speak medication reminders aloud (if you enable voice)
What it does: Uses your device's built-in voice to read reminders
Data collected: None (uses device's native TTS)

Your Control

• You can delete all medication history anytime in Settings
• You can reset all data (medications, settings, history) in Settings
• Uninstalling the app removes ALL data permanently
• No cloud backup means complete privacy (but also means data cannot be recovered)

Third-Party Services

MedBuddy does NOT use any third-party services, SDKs, or analytics tools. The only external functionality used is:

• Android's built-in Text-to-Speech: Uses your device's native voice engine (Google TTS, Samsung TTS, etc.). This is controlled by your device's system settings, not by MedBuddy.

We do not integrate any advertising networks, analytics platforms, crash reporting tools, or other third-party services.

Children's Privacy

MedBuddy is not directed at children under 13. The app is designed for adults who need medication reminders. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.

Medical Disclaimer

MedBuddy is a reminder tool only and does NOT provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. The app is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always:

• Consult your healthcare provider for medical decisions
• Follow your doctor's instructions for medication use
• Seek immediate medical attention in emergencies
• Do not rely solely on this app for medication management

Data Security

While your data stays on your device and is protected by your device's security features (lock screen, encryption, etc.), please note:

• If someone has physical access to your unlocked device, they can see your medication information
• Back up your device regularly to prevent data loss (note: device backups may include MedBuddy data)
• Use a secure lock screen to protect your device

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in an updated version of the app. Your continued use of MedBuddy after changes are made means you accept the updated privacy policy.

Major changes will be announced via:

• App update notes in the Play Store
• In-app notification (if applicable)

International Users

MedBuddy is available worldwide. Regardless of your location, your data stays on your device. We do not collect or transfer data across borders because we do not collect data at all.

Your Rights

Because we don't collect any data, there is no data for us to:

• Provide to you (it's already on your device)
• Delete from our servers (we don't have servers)
• Correct or update (you control it directly in the app)
• Export (you can view it in the app)
